Soaked cycling
Got drenched by heavy showers today. Loved it. The amount of mud is directly proportional to the amount of fun I had. Luckily not as cold as yesterday.

Wet chilly ride
Been taking it real easy on the bike lately. I try to stay in Zone 1-2 most of the time.

Weekly Fort Klapperkop ride
I started cycling over Fort Klapperkop on Wednesday mornings this summer. A few friends joined in and we’ve created a nice little group. They managed to keep the rides going during my operation and this morning I joined in again. The knees held their own, but I’ve lost quite a bit of strength. Either that, or the group has grown much stronger over the past 6 weeks.
It’s great to be back though… and the strength will return over time.

Back in action
I’ve been taking things very leisurely since my operation. It’s been a week since I had any discomfort while cycling, so I went out for a bit of a longer ride today. It went well and everything feels back to normal. Apart from my fitness levels. Even though I’m feeling good, I’ll continue taking it easy. Very happy to be riding again though.
When walking, going down stairs is still a bit uncomfortable, so I’ll continue to wait before resuming running.

Three weeks since the op
Little status update.
Three weeks have past and I’m still quite far from being able to train normally. The surgeon told me to start cycling on the trainer, which is good news.
I’ve been taking it real easy and my knees feel fine while cycling, but hurt quite a bit when doing other regular stuff, like going down stairs or crouching. They hurt irrespective of me cycling or not.
Guess this healing process is going to take several weeks, if not months. Starting to think I might have to wait until next year, before training again.
