Cold
I got a cold on Friday and went to the doctor asap. He gave me a bowl full of meds! Something has to die… hopefully the virus. Normally I won’t run to the doctor this earlty, but I would be guttered if I won’t be able to do Saturday’s race. Hopefully I’ll be well enough to ride.

I know where you’re at. I came down with a cold last Wednesday and had my first Triathlon on Sunday. I slept -alot!, took hot showers, drank tea and did the chicken soup thing and was clear by Sunday morning. My last resort was bottle of nose spray which I thankfully did not need. I wish you a speedy recovery!

Try the Sinucleanse Neti Pot for colds next time. I came down with a severe sore throat, sinus congestion, and ears clogged back in April. All I did was the Neti pot every 2-3 hours and some tylenol for the sore throat pain. It really cleans things out and makes you feel better, all without antibiotics. On the other hand my sister-in-law took two different antibiotics and still wasn’t any better sooner than I was.
South Africa! Just read a nice post at Joe Friels Blog about cycling in S.A. Keep it up!

Thanks for the comments guys.
I’m already feeling better and chances are good that I’ll be able to do the ride on Saturday.
@Jim. Thanks for the article. I actually just bought Joe Friel’s book (upon Big_Dave’s recommendation). That’s a great post by Joe. It’s true that cyclists are a tight bunch. 9/10 times other riders will return a wave or a hello. It’s almost like a brotherhood down here, and the bond is even stronger between the off-road guys.
